LOCAL community project Stage Life presents an Installation showcase at the Worksop Regal next Tuesday.
The exhibition opens its doors at 6.30pm, before starting the show at 7pm, and displays the works created by its members, including projects as diverse as paintings and shadow puppets.
Stage Life, a participatory arts project for adults with learning disabilities, began in June 2008 as a part of a partnership program between Greenacre Care Homes and Young Potential, and is funded through Arts Council England and Notts County Council’s Learning Disability Development Fund and Healthier Communities Team.
Community access worker Katie Fisher said the project was a celebration of the last five months members spent on the project, and that their work culminated in this performance.
“It’s a great opportunity for the individuals because they’re able to share it with the local communities and also their family and friends,” she said.
“They’ve had access to a professional venuie and professional artists so it’s been a great opportunity in that respect as well.”
Doors open at the Regal at 6.30pm on Tuesday 30th June and the group asks for a suggested donation of £3 per visitor.
