Under 11s into final four

DINNINGTON Rugby Club’s Under 11s began the new year with a 17-7 victory in the quarter-finals of the Yorkshire Cup.

The Lodge Lane kids hosted Sandal, who scored first with a converted try.

In response, Dinnington used the ball well to create space out wide which eventually resulted in Reece Wilks taking the ball over the line for their first try.

Sandal’s defence held firm into the second half, until Harry Brown crossed the line to put the hosts in front. As time ticked away, Thomas Bignell went over for Dinnington’s third try, converted by Brown, and the youngsters celebrated a place in the semi-finals.

Man of the Match was Cole Hewitt.
