Third multi option ride

Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club’s Sunday Leisure Ride was the third in a series of multiple option rides throughout the winter season.

The idea is to allow riders of different abilities to enjoy a club ride.

Ride leader Matt Hindmarsh was followed by Liam Hindmarsh, Joe Smith, Colin Smith, Dave Chaffey, Dave Walker, Dave Backhouse and Yvone Thornhill.

The riders departed Roseway in Gainsborough heading out of town along Heapham Road.

The ride then progressed through Upton, Kexby, Willingham by Stow, Normanby by Stow and Stow to arrive at Bransby venue Rest for Horses where a refreshment stop was made.

The ride home took the riders through Sturton by Stow, Stow, Normanby by Stow Willingham by Stow, Kexby and Upton returning into Gainsborough along Heapham Road and Foxby Hill.

The pleasant ride was 24 miles long, the tail wind out helped the riders but the strong head wind made the return tough.

Thornhill, who has recently started riding with group, coped well and is enjoying the shorter rides with the group.

New riders are welcome to take part, you don’t have to be a member of the club.
