Sun goes down on Dinno vets

VETS RUGBY

Sheffield Tigers Vets 15

Dinnington Vets 6

A LOW sun made it tough for both sides to see what was happening, but it’s not enough of an excuse for Dinnington.

The game was a fairly even contest throughout but Dinnington just edged the first half with a solitary penalty from Jaime Baird to give them a 3-0 lead.

They did have some half chances to score tries but could not capitalise on promising moves.

The visitors continued to have the upper hand for the first quarter of an hour of the second half but could only register a second Baird penalty.

They then made the mistake of allowing Tigers’ back line to get in the game as poor kicking encourage the home side to run at them.

Three times Tigers ran back kicks to score tries and once they had got themselves into the lead they were not going to give it up.
