Park are worth a point but Harworth are winners

CENTRAL MIDLANDS

Kiveton Park 1

Harworth CI 2

KIVETON Park entertained second in the league Harworth at Hard Lane, and failed to come back from two first half goals.

Park started slowly, conceding on four minutes.

A miscued pass looped over the home defence who stood and watched as the Harworth captain volleyed into the bottom corner.

Park began to get into the game with a James Lawton effort that was saved and Carl Longmore firing just wide.

Cocks then stretched the away keeper with a run and shot from 20 yards, the keeper brilliantly tipping the ball round the post.

Park suffered a blow on 43 minutes when Harworth’s winger picked up the ball, evaded three tackles and rounded the keeper to make it 2-0.

Kiveton responded immediately as Jimmy Cregan volleyed home from 12 yards when the away side failed to clear a corner.

The hosts dominated most of the second half, going close on a number of occasions through Longmore and Lawton.

The away keeper pulled off a string of fine saves to keep Park at bay.

Kiveton threw caution to the wind, leaving three at the back but despite their best efforts could not get the equaliser.

Kiveton: Parker, Gravelle, Cregan, Green, Plant, Harrison, Cocks, Stewart, Longmore, Lawton, Poad. Subs: Carless, Taylor.

COUNTY SENIOR DIVISON TWO

Boynton Sports 2

Kiveton Park Reserves 4

PARK Reserves secured an excellent away win, despite playing no games during November.

Goals from Sam Walker and new signing Brad Davies put Kiveton two up at half-time.

Within ten minutes of the second half, Jamie Webster made it three with a fine individual goal.

Boynton gave themselves a lifeline with a long range effort, however this was short-lived as Webster broke through on the counter attack to tee up Davies for his second.

The home side converted a late penalty to make the score look respectable, but it could have easily been a more significant margin of victory had Kiveton converted their chances.
