Nominate now for Notts awards

NOTTS County Council are inviting nominations for the county’s 2012 Sports Awards.

Richard Whitehead, Becky Adlington OBE and Ollie Hynd all featured at last year’s awards, before going on to do Notts proud at London 2012.

The annual awards – now in their 21st year – are an opportunity to highlight key achievements of individual sportspeople, teams, clubs, coaches and volunteers across more than a dozen different categories.

A glittering ceremony is set to take place at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, on 12th February.

Categories include: Junior Team, Young Coach, Junior Sportsperson, Young Volunteer, Junior Disabled Sportsperson, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year – Performance, Coach of the Year – Communit,,y Sportsperson Volunteer of the Year, Disabled Sportsperson, Roll of Honour, Club of the Year, Sporting School of the Year.

The nomination process is open to anyone and nominators can be teachers, coaches, volunteers, parents, or someone who plays alongside a potential sporting hero.

The qualifying time period, which will be what nominations are judged on, is from 1st November 2011 to 30th November 302012.

The closing date for nominations is 2nd December.
