With a large crowd watching, Kiveton were put in to bat on a good surface.

The away side were in trouble from the off, losing Hampshire and Ward cheaply.

However, Cartwright and Grainger steadied things.

The introduction of Perera was key for Anston, as wickets then started to tumble at regular inervals, and Kiveton were in a great deal of trouble at 97 for 8.

However, good knocks from Brooks (24), Coxon (44) and Smith (20 not out) took the Kiveton score to a respectable 184 all out.

For Anston, Ruczenczyn (3 for 42) and Perera (3 for 24) were the pick of the bowlers.

Anston were confident of knocking the runs off, but Kiveton were straight into it as Spurr bowled Lyne for 1.

Good knocks from Perera (25) and Norbury (26) again steadied things, but a collapse of epic proportions then occurred as Anston lost four wickets for just four runs.

Batsmen Ruczenczyn (23) and Morris (42) rallied to put the game back on track for Anston.

Then, Kiveton enjoyed two decisive successes, as Grainger took an excellent diving catch to dismiss Ruczenczyn, and then Smith bowled Morris.
