Boys defend unbeaten run in Derby visit

Bassetlaw Boys will defend their unbeaten record against tough opposition on Saturday when they travel to City of Derby Boys.

Transport will be by mini-bus that from Worksop Priory, Priorswell Road at 8.55am prompt.

The invited squad is: Harvey Walker (Harworth CE); George White, Adam Hickey (Elkesley); James Mallender (St John’s); Tristan O’Fee, Cameron Harper (Sir Edmund Hillary); Oliver Ashwell, Alex Wonham, Joseph Gregory (Carr Hill); Sebastian Menzhausen, Will Bircumshaw (St Anne’s); Ethan Warner (Redlands); Jacob Reynolds (Prospect Hill). Stand-by: Staff: Messrs: Pressley, Donnelly, Tarr.

Carr Hill Girls held Seven-a-side champions Ryton Park to a goalless draw, while Haggonfields Girls joined North Leverton Girls at the top of their division with a 4-0 defeat of Sturton-le-Steeple Girls.

Their goals came from a Saskia Macefield hat-trick and Amber Cook.

North Leverton were also successful against Sturton when Aimee Flaherty, Libby Mowbray and Katie Taylor shared the goals.

A doubly successful week for Haggonfields saw their boys overcome St Patrick’s 5-1 courtesy of goals from Alfie Heslop, Ben Saxby, Matthew Clarke.

Gringley got into winning ways when Martin Lake, Freddie Moody, George Tomkin and Tom Bosworth were all on target against sporting opposition from North Wheatley and Ranby.

Goals from Misterton’s Reece Clarke and St Joseph’s Edward Spencer were not enough to prevent Worksop Priory from claiming six points in their first two matches.
