Gainsborough Trinity 5

Bottesford Falcons 4

AFTER recent quality performances Trinity put in a below par display, but still managed to get all three points.

The highlight of the match came early on when Trinity defender Ben Turver collected the ball well inside his own half to go on a fantastic run and slot the ball neatly passed the keeper.

Bottesford got back on level terms but Trinity went in front again when Jack Weatherell scrambled home from a corner.

The visitors levelled for a second time before, on the stroke of half-time, Trinity regained the lead with Sam Trowsdale produced a smart finish from a tight angle.

Trowsdale got his second from close range after the break, but Bottesford never gave up and scored twice in as many minutes.

With time running out Trinity grabbed the winner when Josh Priestley found himself in the right place at the right time to stab home.

Tinity’s Man of the Match was Tom Williams.
