FOLLOWING the untimely passing of Trevor Ogden this year, friend and colleague Greg Forester decided to arrange a match in his memory.
The proceeds from the match, for a man who was a true stalwart at Worksop Angling Supplies, were donated to New Hollies Street Carers Group.
The date was the 31st May, the venue the Riverside Fishery at Scrooby which was very generously donated free of charge by the proprietor John Hunt, and due to Trev's popularity the event's 40 pegs were sold out in a matter of days.
The participating anglers found the lake's fish in an unforgiving and fickle mood, but this did not deter from the great atmosphere and generosity that over whelmed everyone on the day.
Through the match and the raffle organized a fantastic amount of £820 was raised with Trev's wife Linda and their family immediately making the amount up to £1000 for this worthy cause.
