Here's how her week panned out...
After coming back from Austria I have been taking it a little easier than normal. I have eaten a few more carbs' than usual too just for a short while because if I didn't then I would probably go insane!
Wednesday 4th
In open session we did five's, basically we all take it in turns to call out an exercise and we do five of them. For the first quarter of the lesson we do single exercises like press ups etc and for the next quarter we do bag work and for the last half we mix everything up so it could be five press ups, sit ups, burpees, tuck jumps. Good enjoyable session but very hard work.
In sparring class I had to take it easy because I took a kick on the jaw in my fight and have aggravated it so it is a little tender. I still did the work but made sure I kept my guard up!
Thursday 5th
We had a massive circuit in senior kickboxing including bag work, plyometric, fitness and explosive work. It was very tiring but very enjoyable.
Friday 6th – 8th
I Had an International WAKO PRO judging duty and unfortunately it was in Pamplona, Spain! We had an English fighter fighting a Spanish fighter and you have to have one judge from each country and an independent. We had chance to look around the town before the fight night started and after the fight we had the longest meal I have ever eaten "tapas style" we started eating at 10.30 and finished at 1.30am! They brought out meal after meal, after meal! It was really nice. On Sunday we just chilled out and came home late at night.
Monday 9th
In the Thai class we did a team event at the beginning to get warmed up and finished the class with some combinations.
I did some points fighting to keep myself nimble and I enjoy it every so often too.
In K1 we did a good solid pad work session working on blocking and return combination with full power I always enjoy a good power session!
Tuesday 10th
I went to SDF in Sheffield and trained with Shane. We had a warm up and then we had one hour of sparing, no rest! It was good but I had to keep full concentration for the whole time.
In the evening I went to boxing and did some foot work, skipping and bag work and to finish I did some focus mitt work with the trainer. (Watch this space!)
Our "Falcon Fight Academy" gym in Dinnington has now involved even more classes, with more K1 and the new MMA classes, it now offers no less than eight different styles of martial arts. Look in on us at www.falconfightacademy.moonfruit.com
