MAIN chalked up their third win in a row on Saturday, thrashing last season's champions.
Five goals in the first half put paid to the game as a contest.
The first came in the sixth minute, when Dave Shepherd shot past Rangers keeper Adam Nicholson.
In the 14th minute Rob Branagan got Main's second by shooting into the bottom corner from 12 yards following Nicky Hancock's mazy run.
Seven minutes later Matt Wragg made it 3-0, slamming the ball home from 10 yards.
With 14 minutes remaining in the half, Main made it four, with Wragg scoring again.
Rangers pulled a goal back in the 37th minute, Matt Plant heading in at the back post.
But in first half injury-time John Beggs latched onto Jonathan Wragg's throughball and fired the ball into the net from 20 yards out.
Branagan got his second and Main's sixth in the 61st minute when he ran onto Matt Wragg's through ball, beat the Rangers offside trap and rounded Nicholson to coolly slot the ball into the net.

LEAGUE CUP
Maltby Main 1
Lincoln Moorlands Railway 2
MALTBY'S League Cup encounter started in explosive fashion, but ended in disappointment for the hosts.
Main were unlucky not to be ahead inside the first minute when John Beggs looped over a corner and the ball was partially cleared by Phil McGann in the Railway goal, only as far as Matt Griffin but he fired the ball over the bar from 12 yards out.
Railway went straight up the other end of the pitch and were awarded a penalty in the second minute, when Danny White chopped down Adam Hewiit inside the area.
Nick Robinson stepped up and sent Jamie Bailey the wrong to score the opener.
Robinson should have forced Bailey into a save in the 123th minute, but he vollied high over the bar from the edge of the area.
Dave Shephard beat the offside trap in the 20th minute and raced in on goal, but McGann easily saved his shot.
McGann pulled off a wonderful save in the 43rd minute to deny Beggs, whose powerful shot was heading for the far corner of the goal.
Main pulled level in the 57th minute, when Shephard played Rob Branagan through on goal, and the Main striker slotted the ball under McGann and into the back of the net.
Main were unlucky not to go ahead in the 64th minute when Beggs' free-kick flew inches of the bar.
A minute later Railway were back in the lead when Adam Hewitt headed home Josh Langtry's cross from the by-line.
With 20 minutes remaining in the game Scott Somerville raced through the middle of the field and fired in a shot, but McGann easily saved down low.
Main had a great chance three minutes from the end when Tate raced down the wing and cross from the left, Matt Wragg headed the ball goalward and Branagan challenged McGann.
The ball droped to Somerville, but he sliced the ball wide of the goal.
