MAIN went into their opening league encounters with a fresh look, with new manager Steve Adams and several new faces in the squad.

Goals from Michael Allsop, Rowan Hines and Alex Steadman gave Long Eaton three points and gave Maltby a less than ideal start to Adams's reign as manager of the Muglet Laners.

But Wednesday night saw Main take on Nostell Miners Welfare in the first home game of the season – and the hosts took all three points with a 1-0 win.

Adams' men host Bottesford Town tomorrow in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup (3pm).
