MANOR Motorsport's F1 team will be known as Virgin Racing, it was announced this week.

A statement from John Booth's Dinnington-based racing company also said that work on their car for the 2010 F1 season was coming along well.

A spokesperson for Manor said: "We can confirm that the team has been renamed Virgin Racing."

"We have been quietly progressing our car development programme and we are extremely encouraged by our rate of progress and crash testing performance."

"We are looking forward to 2010 with great excitement."

It was recently revealed that German driver Timo Glock will drive for Virgin Racing next season.

Manor Motorsport and Virgin are expected to make a formal announcement about their partnership in the coming weeks.
