WHEN Lewis Hamilton clinched the Formula One World Championship on Sunday, a prediction made in the Dinnington Guardian came true.
Hamilton's former team boss at Dinnington-based Manor Motorsport told the Guardian in June 2007 that the 23-year-old would win his first F1 title within two years.

John Booth said he was glued to his television on Sunday, and was delighted for Hamilton.

John told the Guardian: "I don't watch many Grand Prix, but this one was worth watching."

"Of course I was delighted for him, it was very exciting."

And the Manor boss predicted more success for the McLaren driver: "Lewis has been going from strength to strength and now that he's done it once, he'll go on to win it again."

Hamilton's fifth-place finish in Brazil gave him the title by a single point.
