ASTON Hall kept pace with the Division One leaders with a five-wicket win over bottom placed Oughtibridge at Green Lane.
Aston invited their visitors to defend first and they accumulated a score of 179 for 6.
Peter Hague opened with 57 and Jon
Cundy added 42 in the process.
When Aston Hall batted they lost their first four batsmen with just 10 runs between them.
This brought skipper Carl Tiler to the crease.
He took control of the innings, smashing seven sixes and 11 fours in an amazing knock of 130 not out for an Aston total of 180 for 5.
Richard Slater supported with 32 in a stand of 150 for the third wicket and Matthew Tyers took 3 for 45.
DIVISION TWO
Maltby 121 for 7
Treeton B 118AT Muglet Lane Maltby B eased their relegation worries with a three-wicket win over Treeton B.
The visitors were invited to defend first and after a good opening stand where Richard Coleman scored 27, wickets tumbled fast until junior Matthew Edwards entertained with a quick-fire 28.
Treeton set the target at 118 all out.
Maltby's response featured Salman Butt who collected a stylish 55 as they won with three wickets spare.
Manny Mudhar bowled well for Treeton with 4 for 43.
DIVISION THREE
Rossington 157 for 4
Aston Hall B 154 for 8ROSSINGTON returned to the leadership of Division Three through defeating Aston Hall B at the Welfare Ground.
Aston batted first and were in trouble at nine for three when skipper Malcolm Shaw was joined by Andy Matthews.
The two batsmen added 114 runs before Andy Matthews left for 40.
Malc Shaw stayed to compile 64 to enable an Aston total of 154 for 8.
Michael Richardson took 3 for 60 for Rossington.
In their reply Alex Rowland and Matthew Smedley built an opening stand of 108 before Smedley left for 51.
A flurry of wickets followed with Alex Rowland scoring 63 accompanied by two 'ducks' but Rossington gained the winning runs without further loss.
