Worksop pupil is top scorer in maths challenge

Retford Elizabethan pupil Lawson Glasby, 16, from Gateford, will now be competing against gifted mathematicians from across Europe in the next round of the Maths Challenge

Students at the Elizabethan Academy were celebrating this week as the results of the UK Maths Challenge were released.

Among the star pupils was Gateford pupil Lawson Glasby, 16, who was placed in the top 10 per cent of mathematicians in the country.

Lawson’s fantastic achievement secures him a place in the ‘Pink Kangaroo’ competition later this year to compete against mathematicians from over 30 countries.
