Twitterthon gets support

South Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Shaun Wright has given his support to the force’s latest twitterthon.

Police tweeted details of every incident reported to them on Friday 21st December between 12 noon and 12 midnight, as well as their response, to highlight the variety of things they deal with.

Mr Wright said: “The twitterthon will raise awareness of the diverse and complex role of policing and hopefully build trust and confidence with the public, as they are able to see, on one of the busiest periods, how much time and resources officers spend policing and keeping the community safe over the festive period.”
