The root to retirement for Worksop dentist Clive
Dentist Clive Tattley is retiring after 44 years (w121121-4e)
WORKSOP dentist Clive Tattley was surprised with a special party as he hung up his drill after 44 years service.
The 68-year-old dentist, who retired from Wright Dental Care last month, was treated to a big surprise retirement party.
“It’s quite humbling when you walk through the door and there are 80 people waiting for you,” he said.
“I have enjoyed the privilege of being trusted with the dental care of my patients. It has been a large part of my life for the last 44 years.”
Mr Tattley, who opened a practice above Morgan’s in Victoria Square in 1982 and later moved to larger premises on Newcastle Street in 2002, said a traumatic experience in the chair helped to shape his approach to his own patients.
“When I was younger a dentist extracted one of my teeth when it was numb.It was an experience that cannot be recommended and probably did a lot for my future patients, as I have always tried to work to the motto ‘do to others as you would be done by’,” he said.
“I know I am leaving Worksop with the legacy of a large well-founded dental practice.”
