Sofa blaze could be arson
A BLAZE that consumed the sofa and spread smoke damage to the lounge of a vacant home in Dinnington may have been started deliberately.
Firefighters from Aston Park, Maltby and Worksop were called to the property, on Laughton Road, which is furnished but vacant, at around 7.43pm, and didn't leave until 9.05pm, after using two hose jets to put out the fire.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said a fire investigation was under way, but that the blaze seems 'likely to be deliberate'.
