Retford Fire Station held a Christmas party for local children

CHILDREN met Santa Claus and told him what toys they wanted for Christmas at Retford Fire Station.

The annual Christmas party was attended by 25 children and their families, and largely funded by the firefighters themselves.

The big man in red was the main attraction, as well as an illusionist and entertainer, a visit from Welephant - the Fire Fighters Charity mascot - and piles of party food.

“Everyone had a great time,” said Matt Lloyd, red watch manager at Retford Fire Station.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to Santa, as we understand how busy he is at this time of year.”

“And also to ASDA for a large discount on the children’s food and the donations received during the afternoon.”
