Olympic stars to wave off walkers at Clumber Park charity event

MORE than 1,000 people have signed up for Macmillan’s Big Walk today - when Olympic swimmers Hannah Miley and Jo Jackson, plus cyclist Jess Varnish, will wave off the walkers at 10am (Saturday 8th September).

The event at Clumber Park aims to raise £100,000 for people affected by cancer, and will comprise a 10-mile woodland route or a two-mile easier route suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and mobility scooters. Dogs on leads are welcome on either.

Organiser Alex Talcer said: “We are thrilled so many people will be joining us on the day, and it’s exciting the Olympic athletes are taking time out to greet the crowds.

“People can still register to take part.”
