Maltby miner dies at pit
A PROBE is under way into the death of a miner at Maltby pit yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Maltby colliery at 5pm yesterday (Monday 5th December).
The man, who cannot be named, is believed to be in his early 50s and from the Doncaster area.
A police spokesman said: "Colliery management are working alongside South Yorkshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive who are conducting a joint investigation."
