Former manager of Thornberry Animal Sanctuary being questioned by police

A FORMER manager of troubled Thornberry Animal Sanctuary has been arrested by South Yorkshire Police.

It is believed that Steve Bamford is helping police with enquiries about the financial dealings at the North Anston sanctuary.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "A 51-year-old man was arrested and bailed to return on 25th November. No charges have been brought against him and he is helping police with their enquiries."

Mr Bamford was one of the founders of the sanctuary.
