Double fatal on A631 Tickhill to Maltby road
TWO PEOPLE have been killed in a road traffic accident on the A631 Tickhill to Maltby Road.
The incident happened just before 11am and involved an articulated lorry and a motorcycle.
Both motorcyclist and pillion rider died at the scene. The male lorry driver is suffering shock.
The motorbike was travelling away from Maltby and the lorry was travelling in the opposite direction.
Firefighters from Maltby station were called to the scene along with South Yorkshire Police and an ambulance.
Police closed off the road to carry out investigations and the road remains closed. Drivers are being asked to find alternative routes.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to call the accident witness hotline on 0114 2202970.
