Anston Parish Council election

AN ELECTION will take place in Anston next week to fill a casual vacancy on the parish council.

Four independent candidates and one Labour member will compete for the seat in the poll on Thursday.

The names of those nominated for the position is as follows: Betty Ireland (independent), Derek Kemp (independent), Andrew Sampson (independent), Stuart Thornton (independent) and Gordon Watson (Labour).

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm at: Anston Greenlands School, Edinburgh Drive; Anston Park School, Park Avenue; Anston Parish Hall, off Ryton Road; Anston Hillcrest School, Hawthorne Avenue; and Harthill Village Hall, on Winney Hill in Harthill.
