VILLAGERS have set up their own eBay trading site to raise money for their village hall.
Four members of Todwick village hall committee are running their own limited company called e-vend.

They will sell residents’ unwanted items on eBay for them, in return for a 20 per cent donation of the selling price to village hall funds.

Trustee Bryan Ferris said they got the idea from neighbouring Kiveton Park, where a similar scheme has run successfully for five years.

He said: ”The village hall committee isn’t allowed to trade so we’ve set up a limited company.

”We piloted e-vend last year and launched it properly last month. We will take a photo of the item someone wants to sell and then do everything else, including wrapping the item up and posting it.”

Money raised from e-vend donations will be used for the upkeep of the village hall.

Anyone wanting to sell through e-vend can contact Mr Ferris on 01909 773853.
