Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was threatened with a knife during a burglary in Thurcroft.

At around 5.15am yesterday, the 32-year-old woman woke to find a man standing in her bedroom on South Street.

The man threatened her with the knife and asked her questions about the property. He was wearing her purple MAMBO jacket at the time.

He eventually left taking her large yellow and grey striped purse from downstairs that contained a number of cards and a small amount of cash.

It is believed the alleged offender entered through her front door, which had been accidentally left open.

The man is described as white, aged 20 to 30-years-old, around 5'8" tall, medium build with a bald or shaved head. Along with her purple jacket, he was wearing a pair of jeans and spoke with a local accent.

Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Constable Rachel Morton on 01709 83 2265 or email rachel.morton@southyorks.pnn.police.uk.
Alternatively you can phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
