WHO said girls don't know how to play football? This group of youngsters don't just understand the game, they know how to bring home awards as well.

The young team, from Swallownest Primary School, took part in a sports festival where they competed against every other primary school in the Aston area.

And the sports-minded youngsters ended up winning every match in which they competed.

Teacher Amy Hurst said the girls really enjoy playing what traditionally has always been considered a boy's game.

"They love it and they play very well," she said. "They are also very keen and talented, even training together away from the school."

"Winning in the festival was a big thing for them and we are very pleased with them for doing so well."
