BRAVE knights from the Escafield Medieval Society entered into battle in Letwell's historic main road on Saturday.

There was also music from Thurcroft Brass Band and performances from Aston Junior School youngsters and the Maltby Phoenix Sword Dancing Team.

It was all part of the tiny village's famous annual Street Fayre, and you can see the Guardian's video of the event by clicking the play button.

Organisers came up with contingency plans in case the weather was wet, but it kept fine and sunny all day.

All proceeds from the event go to St Peter's Church, which dates back to Norman times.
