A WOMAN was held down and sexually assaulted by two men while at a concert at Clumber Park on the weekend.
The 25-year-old woman had lost her friends at the Queen Spectacular concert at the Worksop National Trust park at about 11pm on Saturday 16th August.

Shortly after the fireworks display, the victim attempted to find her way back to the main car park, but when she got to Lab Crossroads, off Lime Tree Avenue, she saw two men standing nearby.

Notts Police said that one of them then grabbed her, pulled her into the wooded area, where she was held down and sexually assaulted.

The men then ran off. The victim was left shocked and extremely distressed by what happened.

The first offender is described as being a white man, aged 19 to 20, and of slim to medium build. He was wearing a blue tracksuit top and bottoms, a blue baseball cap and white trainers.

The second man is also white, aged 19 to 20, and of medium to heavy build. He had thick, blonde, wavy hair, and was wearing white tracksuit bottoms with a black stripe.

"This was a traumatic experience for the victim, to be attacked by two strangers, having lost her friends," said a Notts Police spokesman. "We are keen to speak to people who may have seen two men hanging around this area, and would ask anyone who took digital photos or moving footage of Lab Crossroads around 11pm to contact the police."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Worksop police station on 0115 9670 999 ext 7132 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The Worksop Guardian will be attending a press briefing at Clumber Park this morning, where a forensic search at the scene of the crime will be conducted.

There we will be interviewing the senior investigating officer as well as a Clumber Park representative.

More information will follow.
