PANICKED residents in Maltby claim the area is being visited by UFO's after several sightings of mysterious orange lights hovering above the town.
Eight locals claim they have seen eerie ball-shaped objects moving without sound on spotters website uk-ufo.co.uk
They were last sighted on New Years Day - but reports have been coming in at regular intervals since mid-September.
Witnesses descirbe the strange glowing orbs as "spooky" and "totally silent".
One Maltby residsent, Paul Coe, said: "I keep seeing these weird lights. I have compared the size with planes and these things are twice the size of a 757."
Another local, Robert O'Malley, said: "Saw orange lights, lit up like a Christmas Tree, no sound, no flashing lights, gliding in the sky came from South West direction flew over my house in Maltby towards North East direction.
"The objects moved very slowly, gliding. Both objects just disappeared. I am at a loss to understand what these objects were, not an aeroplane or helicopter."
Reports of orange lights in the sky are often explained as Chinese lanterns. However, locals remain convinced.
David Brown said: "These orange balls went directly over my house heading south. I counted six or seven with approx three to four mins between each one all following exact flight line as the first."Chinese lanterns do me a favour - these things were faster than a hellicopter doing the same speed as a plane but not a sound."
