A taste of traditional British food.

450g shortcrust pastry

450g beef steak, finely chopped

1 onion, chopped

200g potato, finely chopped

150g swede, finely chopped

1 tsp dried mixed herbs

1 egg, beaten

Salt and white pepper

METHOD

Preheat the oven to 200C

Roll pastry and cut out two circular pieces of about a 20cm diameter.

Mix together the meat, potato, swede, herbs and salt and pepper.

Put some egg around the edges of the pastry shapes and then Brush the edges of the circles with a little of the beaten egg and place half the meat mixture in the centre of each.

Fold the pastry over to form a parcel shape and pinch the edges together.

Brush with egg and cook in the oven at 180c for one hour.

Check regularly to prevent burning and cover with foil if needed.
