Doc/Fest screens top documentary

FASHION fans will be able to get inside the mind of a Vogue magazine editor with an award-winning documentary.

The September Issue will be screened on Tuesday at 8pm at Sheffield’s The Showroom ahead of its nationwide release across UK cinemas.

The film follows legendary Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour over nine months as she and the editorial team assemble the biggest issue of the world’s most influential fashion magazine.

The documentary features some of the hottest talents in fashion, including Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Mario Testino, and Jean Paul Gaultier.

Debuting at the Sundance Film Festival and winning the Grand Jury Prize for Excellence in Cinematography 2009, R.J. Cutler chronicles the tedium of staff meetings, the scrutinising of designers’ new collections from the front row and the chaos of a photo-shoot in the streets of Rome

Sheffield Doc/Fest programmer Hussain Currimbhoy added: “The fashion and culture scene in Sheffield is bigger than ever and an increase in independent boutiques and home-grown talented designers has turned the city into a real fashion hub.”

”It is fantastic that such a highly-acclaimed film is being previewed in Sheffield, and I’m confident it will provoke great interest among key opinion leaders and be as popular as it has at film festivals and screenings worldwide.”

The film will be screening in cinemas nationwide from Tuesday 11th September.
