A GLAMOROUS charity summer ball is one of three major events at Worksop's North Notts Arena, and you could win a pair of tickets to the night worth £50.
Don your dinner jacket and ballgown for the Black Tie and Posh Frock Summer Ball.

It will be held on Saturday 5th July - shortly followed by a nostalgic afternoon of 50s and 60s music, entitled, Unforgettable on Tuesday 8th July.

The arena is also gearing itself up to host its second New Year’s Eve bash, featuring Motown and soul duo STARSTAR - tickets for which go on sale on Monday 7th July.

Arena manager Nigel Turner said this line-up would offer three varied shows of fantastic entertainment and promised something to suit all ages and tastes.

”The Black Tie and Posh Frock Summer Ball evening is in aid of five of Bassetlaw’s most worthy causes, including the Bassetlaw Breastcare Appeal – the Guardian’s Adopted Charity 2008,” he said.

”All proceeds from the ticket sales and auction on the night will be donated to all five charities, so get your dinner jackets and ballgowns out and boogie on down to the arena for a great night’s entertainment.”

Long-running Police tribute band The Secret Police will star on the night, accompanied by award-winning comedy entertainment Justin Sane, male vocalist Dale Williams and resident disco The Phoenix Roadshow.

As well as a comprehensive and well stocked buffet spread and late bar, there will also be an auction of Lee Westwood and Mark Foster memorabilia.

And definitely not to be missed is the chance to ‘Drench the MP’ thanks to Bassetlaw MP John Mann who has agreed to bring his stocks and get pounded by wet sponges.

All proceeds from the ball will go to the Bassetlaw Breastcare Appeal, Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw, Bassetlaw Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Worksop Samaritans.

Tickets for the night, priced £25, are limited on a first come first served basis – call 01909 480164 for more information or to donate an auction prize or to support the event.
