THORESBY Park Lawns will provide the backdrop for Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing on Friday 20th June – the latest summer treat from the nationally-acclaimed Oddsocks Productions.
The famous tale is one of love, intrigue and smouldering desires, and it promises to be performed in the group’s inimitable entertaining and family-friendly way by the Oddsocks cast on their Elizabethan pageant wagon.

Young lovers Hero and Claudio are to be married in one week. To pass the time, they conspire with Don Pedro to set a ‘lover's trap’ for Benedick, an arrogant confirmed bachelor, and Beatrice, his favourite sparring partner.

Meanwhile, the evil Don Jon conspires to break up the wedding by accusing Hero of infidelity.

In the end though, it all turns out to be ‘much ado about nothing’ – but with plenty of action along the way.

Organisers say that Thoresby Park will be open for picnics and frolicking in the lead-up to the 7.30pm performance, and that strolling minstrels will be parading the area to welcome the guests and set the tone.

Tickets for the evening are priced £10, £8.50 concessions, £5 children and £28 for a family ticket (two adults, two children), and can be purchased by at Thoresby Gallery or by calling the box office on 0844 586 5365.
