CLUMBER PARK is hoping to press full steam ahead when it welcomes back its second annual Steam and Country Fair on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June.
The Guide has teamed up with organisers to offer six family tickets to the event.

There will be 25 steam engines and a raft of fairground organs, vintage cars, commercials, classic motorcycles and vintage tractors – many of which will take part in main arena parades, from 11am–5pm.

And visitors to the attraction will also have the chance to be in the driving seat.

Elsewhere there will be the opportunity to cheer on the terriers and lurchers as they race to the finish line in competitions taking place each morning throughout the weekend.

Alan Tyer, chairman of the Association of Lurcher Clubs, will also be organising a showing of lurchers and terriers in the afternoons, as they compete for championship points.

Ferrets too will get the chance to go for glory in the ferret races – anyone wanting to enter their lurchers, terriers or ferrets can do so on the day.

Anyone wishing to take a breather from the excitement of the competitions can indulge in some retail therapy with a variety of trade stands promising to offer a wide range of goods, or enjoy a bite to eat and a drink at the fine food marquee and licensed bar.

There will also be a large craft marquee with demonstrations taking place over the weekend, as well as archery lessons, birds of prey displays, quad bike rides for the active among you, and a vintage fairground guaranteeing to keep both the young and the young at heart amused.

Tickets are priced £6 adults, £5 for over 65s, £2 under 16s, free for under 5s and £15 for a family ticket which admits two adults and up to three children. Gates open 10–5pm.

To be in with a chance of winning one of six family tickets, simply answer the following question.

Q) Who is the chairman of the Association of Lurcher Clubs, which is organising various races over the weekend?

Mark your answer ‘Steam and Country Fair competition’ and email your entry to competitions@worksop-guardian.co.uk

Normal Guardian competition rules apply.
