The writer of ChuckleVision, Ian Billings, will be bringing his hilarious one-man show, Talking Pants, to town as part of the Children's Book Festival at 3pm on Saturday 28th June.

Best described as stand-up comedy for kids and their keepers, the show – which has had people of all ages rolling in the aisles across the country – promises to erupt with a ‘riotous explosion of top-notch, toe-tapping, mind-bending, buttock-clenching comedy.’

Questions including, ‘how do dinosaurs scratch their heads?’, ‘what do punctuation marks sound like?’, ‘why is the alphabet in alphabetical order?’ and ‘what happens when you lose your belly-button?’ are answered in the hour long show, which is suitable for kids aged between seven and 11.

Festival co-ordinator Julie Hird said she couldn’t wait to bring Ian’s show to Dinnington.

”It's great to be able to welcome someone who has brought the country first-class entertainment to help us celebrate both the Children's Book Festival and the National Year of Reading,” she said.

”Ian is a sensational comic who brings an audience alive. With everything from his experience with writing books to creating over 40 pantomimes, this will certainly be an afternoon to remember.”

Writer Ian said it was about time stand-up comedy was brought to children in an entertaning, intelligent and thought-provoking way.

”I'm bursting the balloons of the balloon-modellers and I'm smearing the faces of the face-painters – this is children's entertainment which weaves as much thought and intellect into its work as some of the best children's literature,” he said.

”And I make some really funny noises during the course of the show, too!”
