A real treat for lovers of the King of Instruments, the concert really was a case of a big man delivering a big selection of much-loved music.

Carlo held his audience spellbound as he worked his way through a selection of classics by Mozart, Bach and Handel to name a few.

He demonstrated that he is an all-round entertainer, his whole approach to his craft, light-hearted and good fun.

And like most truly great musicians he was approachable before and after his performance, and during the interval, finding time to chat about the organ to his many admirers and sign autographs.

“My audiences have always brought me the greatest pleasure,” he stated in his programme notes.

As well as performing on the greatest organs around the world, Carlo has also carved out an enviable reputation for himself nationwide, playing at such prestigious venues as the Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Alexandra Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, St John Smith Square and Westminster Abbey.

Let us hope that he will now add The Crossing in Worksop to the list of his favourite venues and return to the town before too long.
