You're not an expert on Kiveton Village Hall or Kiveton folk

I notice Mr E. Keith Bamforth is once more purporting to be an expert on the new village hall in Kiveton Park, and also the village and its people in spite of not having lived in the village five minutes!
Mr Bamforth spouts the same old tirade whenever something or someone upsets him, especially if they do not agree with his views.

The parish council have NOT given away the village assets, the land the new hall is being erected on; it still belong
s to the village, as does the hall itself, which if he takes the trouble to visit, he will see what a lovely building it is going to be.

He has a dig at Mr Marsh, but there were a number of councillor representatives on the project committee for the village hall, not just Mr Marsh; they were needed at that time for various reasons.

As for people having no interest in the village hall, perhaps they are incomers like Mr Bamforth, who don't have any interest in the village as a whole!

They don't support any of the various projects, committees or various clubs – how many know about the CDT and have attended meetings, or even where the Old Colliery Offices are for starters?

I recall years ago many people saying the members of the CDT were 'losers,' but look at it now!
Look at the Old Colliery Offices, still standing and renovated and in full use.

Mr Bamforth joined the New Village Hall Project Committee and appeared to be a useful addition, but he soon lost interest, or was it because things were not going the way HE thought they should?

He became a councillor, for a (very) short time, resigning publicly when he couldn't have his own way.

He became a director on the CDT, again resigning publicly when he found he could not take over - Mr Bamforth seems to want to be involved in everything, but once he finds he is only a cog in the wheel, and not the kingpin, he finds something to rant about and resigns, preferably in front of an audience.

In his letter he is just raking over old ground. Get some new ideas, Mr Bamforth, or butt out!

As for Mr Whiteway, could he tell me how many project meetings for the New Village Hall he had attended?

If he had done so, he would have known why the parish council cannot use the new hall and will have to remain in the 'Tin Hut!'
Yes, they were going to have a room in the hall, until it was discovered there was to be a bar in the building, selling alcohol, and councillors are not allowed to meet in a building where alcohol is sold, even if it is not on sale at that time! OK?

Likewise the village library, which I believe is under the auspices of Rotherham Borough Council, not Kiveton & Wales Parish Council.

This new hall will be an asset to the village (if they can keep the yobbo wreckers away).

It will have many amenities for both young and old, groups or singletons, sports fanatics and those just wanting to relax.
So could I say to Mr Bamforth and Mr Whiteway, start thinking positive for a change and stop knocking things.
