Litter bugs should clean up their act

The national press has been critical in a report that councils are appointing private companies to issue fixed penalty fines on litter droppers claiming, that it’s a cash cow councils are using to fleece the public.

But hang on a minute; if the public cleaned up its act then that cash cow would soon dry up. But apparently the press condones this anti-social behaviour. Just look at all the food wrappers, beer cans and cigarette ends dropped by people too idle or apathetic to use a litter bin.

Town Halls up and down the country must be drooling at the prospect of all that easy money just waiting out there to be collected.

Wonder what’s holding Worksop back?
